Local Breweries

Asheville, NC is known as the East Coast Beer City USA, and we have more breweries per capita than any other city in America. Currently there are 9 breweries in the immediate area. The Weinhaus carries brews from all local breweries that bottle.

Highland is Asheville's oldest and largest brewery, and currently the only to offer six-pack bottles. The Weinhaus carries Highland's regular and seasonal offerings as well as kegs.

Green Man started off in Jack of The Wood Pub but has since moved to their own brewing location on Buxton Ave. We carry some of their beers in growlers and kegs are available as well.

Pisgah is Asheville's organic brewery. Their beers are available in 22oz bottles, growlers, and kegs.

Asheville Brewing's Coxe Ave location is just a stone's throw from our store, and offer three of their best beers in 22oz bottles and in kegs.

French Broad is an Asheville classic brewery, and we've been pleased to sell their beers 22oz bottles and in kegs for as long as they've been brewing them.

The Wedge Brewery is located down in the river arts district, and despite popular demand, no longer offer their brews for retail purchase. They do, however, offer growlers on location.

 

LABLAB - Lexington Ave. Brewery

The LAB is Asheville's newest brewery nearby on Lexington, they haven't started selling outside of their own bar, but we hope they will someday.

 

OysterhouseOyster House Brewing

The Lobster Trap's head bartender started brewing especially for the restaurant a couple years back. It's still a very small operation, but an interesting one, and they offer growers onsite.

 

CraggieCraggie Brewing Co.

Craggie is Asheville's second newest brewery, and they have recently begun offering Growlers for retail sale, which we now have.

 

Just about an hour away on I-40 in either direction are Heinzelmännchen Brewery to the west in Sylva, and Catawba Valley Brewing Co. in Morganton to the east. Both breweries offer growlers on location.

Want to learn more about NC breweries? In the summer of 2008 John and six friends filmed a road trip documentary visiting 27 breweries in the state, and learned a lot about NC's booming beer industry. The resulting movie was named Beer Y'all, and is available on DVD here.
